FATHER MUJULE CELEBRATES 30 YEARS AS A PRIEST: 1978-2008

Our pastor, Father Michael Chris Mujule, was ordained a priest of Hoima Diocese, Uganda on the Vigil of Pentecost, i.e. Saturday 13 May 1978, the Feast Day of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Fatima – Portugal. He is grateful to God, and to his beloved parents, Daniel and Maria Kasigwa whose faith in God enabled him to respond with a YES to God's call to Priesthood. Father Mujule says — Looking back at those 30 years, I can only thank God who has been very patient with me and has constantly encouraged me to humbly say YES to Jesus, whose call says: Follow me (Mt 4:19); You did not choose me, No, I chose you and sent you out to go bear fruit that will last (Jn 15:16), and so when you have done all you are commanded, then just say “we are only humble and unworthy servants working in the Lord's Vineyard, and we have done what we were obliged to do by God.” (Lk 17:7-10)

Beloved Parishioners of St. Rose of Lima Church, as I celebrate 30 years today, Pentecost Sunday, I ask you one thing: to pray to God that I may be a good priest, a simple and humble servant witness of Jesus our High Priest (Acts 26:16).

Greetings
from Belleville Diocese and also from St Rose of Lima Parish here in Metropolis City in the southern part of the State of Illinois. Thanks for all you are doing. Iam writing to Congratulate you for the 30 years in priesthood. Thanks be to God. We have really come a long way in this safari of priesthood and our new name should be FROM-FAR-AWAY!! (= BARUGAHARA in our native Runyoro Tribal language!). I remember very well our first time to meet at Katigondo Major Seminary in April 1972 when we began the seemingly long seminary formation safari to priesthood and then we were ordained Deacons in 1977 and later on Priests in 1978.

And my dear brothers please, don't forget to remember and pray for our beloved and most dear classmate the Most Rev. Cyprian Kizito-Lwanga the Archbishop of Kampala Archdiocese (Uganda) who was ordained a priest on 9 April 1978 and is thus also celebrating 30 years in priesthood!

YOU
ARE A PRIEST FOREVER ACCORDING

We continue to pray for Bishop Emeritus of Hoima Diocese the Rt. Rev Albert Edward Baharagate the one who ordained us Priests in 1978 some 30 yrs ago, and to pray for the Ordinary Bishop of Hoima Diocese Rt. Rev Deo Byabazaire, for Hoima Diocese its priests, deacons, religious, seminarians, catechists, laity and all people of God in Bunyoro Kitara Kingdom, in Hoima Diocese. My Dear Brother Priests thanks so much for the PRAYERS, the LOVE and SUPPORT we have given each other since we met at Katigondo and more so since we began our priestly ministry in 1978.

When looking back at the UPS and DOWNS of those 30 years we have to say that God has been there with us as he promised in Mt 28:20, and thus God's love for us assures us and continues to console us by teaching us four things
1- to accept God's offer of forgiveness: that God the Father, has forgiven us/me.
2- to accept other people's offer of forgiveness: that others have also forgiven us/me
3- to accept my offer of forgiveness: that Iam to forgive those who've wronged us/me.
4- to accept the offer of my innner forgiveness: not to be too hard on myself/me, to forgive myself  ~ to accept my limitations, the failures and to accept to let go ... yes as Jesus said ITS FINISHED,
May be this 4th type is the hardest of all to achieve.

I have nothing else to add here except that

LETS PRAY FOR EACH OTHER
Ecclesiasticus 2:1-11
